Overview
El Seibo Resiliente is a collaborative initiative between the Dominican Ministry of Environment, the European Union, and GIZ. The program aims to educate residents of Miches, El Seibo, Dominican Republic, on climate change, its effects, and risk mitigation strategies.
Challenge
The European Union outlined a set of expected outputs, including social media engagement, press presence, and a dedicated program website. The challenge was to deliver a cohesive communication strategy that reached local communities, engaged stakeholders, and raised public awareness effectively
Approach
- Managed the website development with an external company, providing content and guidelines.
- Developed a targeted social media strategy, including the creation and management of a dedicated Facebook page.
- Wrote and distributed press releases to generate national and international media coverage, raising visibility for the program.
- Ensured all communications aligned with project objectives and European Union expectations.
